TH Hi-tech Health Care and Wellness Complex in Hanoi, Vietnam
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnam) is an emerging country in Southeast Asia with a rapidly growing population approaching 100 million. In the 2010s, it maintained stable growth with an average GDP growth rate of 5-6%, and with a young population structure, further economic growth is expected.
In Vietnam, public hospitals face significant challenges with patient concentration in national advanced hospitals providing high-level medical care, resulting in bed occupancy rates exceeding 100% and overcrowding. Consequently, economically affluent individuals use private hospitals with better facilities and equipment, but another issue is the outflow of patients and substantial medical expenses due to medical tourism overseas.
TH Group, which started with the production and sale of dairy products and expanded into banking and education, aims to enhance people’s health and medical services in Vietnam. The group, led by owner Madam Thai Huong, launched a project to develop a medical complex in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
The envisioned medical complex includes preventive medicine services, which are still underdeveloped in Vietnam, a 1,000-bed general hospital capable of handling various diseases, wellness services for rehabilitation and health promotion, and elderly welfare facilities. This project aims to meet the health and medical needs of all generations.
However, medical care is a completely new business for the company. To realize the owner’s vision, they considered Japanese medical care as a model after inspecting medical services worldwide. They approached ITEC, which has extensive consulting experience in hospital projects both domestically and internationally, and entrusted us with the overall planning and management of the project.
We support this project consistently as the project manager and consultant. Our role is not just to manage the project’s progress but also to provide support as specialized consultants in medical and hospital management from the planning stage of what kind of hospital to develop.
Specifically, we provide support in all necessary aspects for establishing a new hospital, including project conception and planning, business planning, feasibility studies, selection of design firms and general contractors, medical equipment planning, hospital information system planning, overall progress management, contract management, construction supervision, and opening support, acting as a partner to the owner until the project is realized.
